Dancer. Choreographer. Dance Educator.
When I dance I feel the most myself. I feel centered, in the moment ... able to sink into the now. Dance is fleeting, they say the most fleeting of all the arts because we cannot freeze it in time and space. Perhaps that is why it is so rich. To be brought into my presence and touch in with this vast landscape of possibilities ... that is why I dance, why I choreograph. To lighten this path for others and to continue to research and question this art form is why I teach.
I was trained in various American modern techniques which remain the foundation of my work. The moving body continues to inspire me. Exploring and understanding the moving body expands my creativity as a teacher and choreographer. I continue to strike a balance between tradition and innovation – investigating new ways of moving whilst still centered in the roots of modern technique.
